It is Canadian Thanksgiving this weekend and because of other commitments, we'll be having our family meal tonight. Turkey and trimmings. I'm the only one who doesn't like turkey but I cook it for everyone else. It smells heavenly as it cooks, filling the house with a warm, savory aroma. It does nothing for my taste buds. I fill my plate with vegetables and always make sure to have quite a few varieties. I'll graze on appetizers and of course I'll leave room for dessert! I have a recipe for a delicious apple crostata which was shared by Christina, we'll have pumpkin pie and I'll add a small cake since it was my mother-in-law's birthday during the week. Plenty for everyone to sample and then there will be leftovers. Best part of any celebratory meal -- the leftovers! And there will be, as always, much to give thanks for.

Please head over to my friend Charlie's blog where she is hostessing a giveaway you won't want to miss. Winner will be chosen October 17th -- get on over there now and check out her fabulous art!

The Super Hero zine for breast cancer awareness is selling well and to date it has raised $184.00! (*edited at 10:00 a.m. to say we are now at $192.00 with thanks to Deidra! ♥) There are still copies available here. Many thanks to those who have purchased a copy. Feedback from those who have purchased the zine is most appreciated. If you are interested in reading a review of the zine, please check Rita Vindedzis' blog.

Happy Canadian Thanksgiving Sherry! I hope you have a wonderful time with the family. Thanksgiving is one of our favorite holidays, we gather everyone here in our little house and eat and talk and have such a great family time! Our dining room is 12x14 and we have had up to 24 family members squeezed around our old table! Tight but cozy and they keep coming back:>)
Happy Thanksgiving! Ours will be here before we know it. Daughter and I make a fabulous Martha Stewart sweet potato souffle that has 632 steps to make it...all worth it! I am thankful to have met you. **kisskiss** Deb
Wonder how many others are having their TG dinner tonight? Thought it was just my family doing the deed early...
Enjoy the nibbles, the desserts (!!) and lots of wine.
And, yes, let’s be thankful for leftovers – as well as all the other blessings in our lives!
(Loved the Superhero zine – as you know...)
Happy Canadian Thanksgiving my dear friend. Hope you and your family have a wonderful time while giving thanks for the many blessings bestowed on us. Enjoy all the yummy food. I can smell that turkey all the way to Texas.

Hmmm... I'm a bit Canadian- I think I should have a Thanksgiving too! Hope yours is lovely... All the food sounds mouth-watering. That apple dessert looks wonderful by the way. Thanks for linking me to it :) Happy Thanksgiving!
Have got my copy today, Sherry, thank you so much! :)
happy thanksgiving!
It's my favorite holiday here in the states, I do love the hominess of everything cooking all day.
I do love the smell of turkey cooking in the house. How nice of you to cook it for everyone else though! I like having leftovers too, for a while. Happy Thanksgiving to you and have a lovely long weekend.
Happy turkey day - again ! ;o)
I`m not keen on turkey either - i`d rather have beef .
We always end up doing a curry then a stir fry then with ham in a savoury white sauce to make a pie with it .I`ve had enough by then !
Well done on the zine sales too !! ;o) I know you`ll go way over $200 !!
Happy Thanksgiving Sherry, we are having turkey tomorrow and that's not something I am crazy about either but I eat a slice or two :)
Great news on the money raised for BC research, can't wait to receive my copy.
Happy Thanksgiving Day!
