Ovarian Cancer Awareness Month

Do it girls. Just do it.

We are women. We know about the diseases that befall women. Breast cancer is one, but breast cancer can happen to men as well.

Ovarian? It's our disease. All ours. And we wish it wasn't. It is quieter than breast cancer because we can't feel it and by the time we can see it or detect it, it is generally in later stages. Read about it here.

This is a silent disease that needs loud noise and loud voices and much more awareness than it receives.

Teal the Cows Come Home by OPI

Need some ideas? Check the teal toes website here for polish colours through various cosmetics companies.

So please. Paint those toes teal. And spread the word.

These are mine.

I learned while painting my toes this colour that my skin tone really doesn't suit teal. But that doesn't matter. This is about awareness and making people sit up and take notice. No matter how cool the weather turns, I will continue to wear my sandals as long as possible this month. The fact that teal doesn't suit me? I realized as I stroked on the last coat....ovarian cancer doesn't suit anyone. Point made.

If you wish to share your teal toes....please do!!! I'd love to see them. Once you have posted about ovarian cancer and your teal toes, come back here to leave the link to the post so that I, and others, can come and have a look. Thanks!

I shout, nudge and remind others (all it takes is knowing one person who has gone through this) but can’t do the toes. Or fingers. A bracelet?

(I think your toes look good.)

My first thought was exactly that. Teal will not go with my skin tone. But you have set me straight on that one. I'm off to find some teal polish! I wouldn't have known about this if you hadn't shared. Thanks!

Great post Sherry, I have bookmarked the Teal Toes website and will have to go get me some nail polish :)
Such a hard disease to detect with the symptoms it has too, maybe the government should offer yearly screening of our ovaries??????

I will be getting my teal nail polish tomorrow after chemo.

In some countries, they do screening of the ovaries when they do your smear test, just wished they would do it everywhere.

Mind you, if everyone raises its awareness maybe change can happen?

i can do teal toes- wonder how it'll look in a couple of weeks, all chipped and flaking, as my toes normally look!
a dear friend of mine had ovarian cancer. it was caught very early, and she is a survivor of a year now. both ovaries removed at age 40.
blessed.

Would you believe it - i wore a teal top and cardigan today !!!! ?? I will show it when i post my hol photos .
It can be a silent killer - when you think one of the symptoms is bloatedness - and don`t really think anything of it - just something you ate .. If only someone could come up with a simple test for us all ..as sometimes we ignore what our bodies are saying until it is too late in some cases ..

Your toes look great - even if they - or you do not think that they suit you - you`re doing your part in spreading the word !!
I hope you get people asking about your tootsies !

xoxo

Read about this on Carolyn's page and not surprised to find that you are the one educating us all. This is a topic that I am not very aware of, so I appreciate you sharing the info. I always learn from you. Hope you are doing well and happy in life. Would love to catch up! Mom sends her love and is still doing well. xoxo Rhonda...
