Exploring My Colour Palette With Flowers

As part of my homework for the Spill It! class, I have been checking out colours that my eye is drawn to. Carmen suggested a trip to a nursery or the nursery section of a home centre and as a trip to the nursery was on my agenda for Sunday, I grabbed my camera and off I went.

At this time of year, colours are specific, especially in nurseries. The following is what my eye caught as I walked through the nursery. Bright and abundant. Bold and bursting with life. Complementary colours working together. I didn't "think" about what I was seeing...I lifted the camera and began looking into the viewfinder and clicking. No thought to composition or design. My eye was reaching over and seeing just "colour".

Next stop is paint chips. I love me some paint chips and browsing the colours. This should be fun...need to make sure I bring a "large" bag!!

Lovely! I seem to be an orange, red, yellow person lately. Must be Autumn influence.

So fun ! Your eyes paint so well !
Paint chips are so fun - they can be painted papers in art work too - cutting them up is a hoot !

Love ya, kiddo !

Oh my Sherry these photos are awesome. Love the colors.
Have fun looking for paint chips. I buy the cheap btl. craft paints even for testing. Can't go wrong...they're so cheap.

So what is your favorite color right now? The only problem I cansee with this exercise is that the colors you can notice are pretty limited. The paint store should be a better way to see what you really like! Every time I go to Home Depot with Earl I stop and take home a handful of paint chips. I cna't help it, I just love thinking about the possibilities. Besides, E. Never really knows when I am going to actually paint so I am able to surprise him quite often with a new paint color. lol, he never knows when I'll paint or what color any given room will be!

Mmmmm, these are all very delicious. I guess I had better go and see just what this homework preparation is all about.

I would have a problem with the assignment because I just love colors.....anything vibrant or alive, I love.

You captured the flowers so very beautifully.

I also like paint chips. That's the best part of the hardware store.

I haven't done my Spill It! homework yet, as I live in a small town and there is no nursery or home improvement store near me. The closest one is about 40 minutes away and when I go to town, I'm usually pressed for time, with plenty of things to do. Actually, I'll be visiting Arkansas in October and thought I'd do my homework then. Take my best friend and wander through the nursery section of Home Depot. Time with my friend AND glorious color! What could be better!

You're pictures are lovely, btw. I love the flowers this time of year.
