Clouds In My Coffee

More beauty from Wednesday, July 1st. As I sat in my chair, relaxing on that beautiful afternoon, I leaned back, looked up at the sky, grabbed my camera and began shooting. No planning, no framing, no thought. Just snap, snap, snap.... There was a great deal of cloud movement throughout the day. I wish I could properly name these clouds. When I was 12 I went to the Island Science School for a week with a group of children from across Toronto. We studied clouds and I knew all about nimbus and cumulus but I have lost all of that knowledge.

The only knowledge I need today is that whatever the formation, whatever the name, they are beautiful. As a child I'd look at these clouds and think they looked like mashed potatoes. Or I'd see shapes and people within them. When we drove to the cottage my sister and I would lay back on the backseat of the car and look out our respective windows and dream about where the clouds would take us if we could only hitch a ride. I still dream about where the clouds could take me.

There is something that is just so beautiful about the sky and the clouds, isn't there! Beautiful pictures! Wishing you a lovely Sunday!

I love your pictures! When Harry used to lie on the ground and have a melt down someone told me to get down with him. One afternoon, I did just that and it stopped the meltdown. We lay on the stones in front of our house and looked at the sky telling each other what we could see in the clouds. Wonderful.

what a great moment, I love to lie on my back & watch the sky and the clouds go by, was one of my favorite things as a kid & I don't plan on ever outgrowing it

I remember laying on the grass on grandma & grandpas farm, or out in the pasture, and watching the clouds. Sometimes dozing in the sunshine. Do you think kids still do that? If they don't they are missing out. This brings back so many memories. Yikes, I sound old!
