Yesterday a day filled with sunshine and warm air...today dull, grey and rainy. One a happy mood, the other a sad mood...however I've decided that even in a downpour, one can find a happy mood. We need some rain -- the ground is beige so the grass and those little shoots poking up from the earth need to be nourished. Baby birds will be hatching soon -- they'll need worms to grow.
I've been finding beauty -- and chose to leave my camera behind. I've wanted to "see" with my eyes without a lens in front of me to block my vision. I've heard beauty in the song of a bird, the whistle of a train, the voices of my children, a new song on the radio. I heard a baby cry in the grocery store. I watched it when my children reminded us to turn out the lights in the house last night to honour earth hour.
I've been browsing photographer's work on etsy...the wonderful talents and visions. The above photograph is by Aufilde, entitled "printemps" and is not to be copied or used for personal use. Please visit the etsy shop to see more of this beautiful work.

I’m trying to look on the bright side of today’s weather...yes, the garden needs the rain...and it’s a wonderful excuse to stay inside with a good book...
Peeked out the window last night during Earth Hour - was happy to see most of our neighbours participating.
Like my Gran used to say, "it's raining cats and dogs", I know it is in Toronto too just talked to my DD. I think of days like this for cozy days, time to relax and renew, as long as we don't have too many days like this in a row, that's a whole different thing.
Have a great Sunday :)
Hi beautiful Sherry ! Happy Rainy Sunday.
I took a walk with my camera today. Wanted company on my walk...brought my artist's eyes. Noticed lots of beauty too, through those eyes.
Sending love and sweet cozy hugs to you today.

Rainy days are great ... they force you to slow down and appreciate the simpler things in life.
Thank you for your sweet encouragement! Sunday Blessings,
I'm soo glad I happened to find your blog! So much inspiration about things that are important right now in my life. Thank you!
Awesome photo!
You are so right! I too decided to appreciate the beauty in the day. Even though we got a cold snap this weekend, in my neck of the woods, I enjoyed the fact that it was a sunny and lovely day. There is beauty all around us. As I was looking out the window today, I noticed a pheasant strolling through my yard. What a fun and unexpected visitor.
Well, my dear, it's always so wonderful to stop by for a visit. Have a great week.
Take care,
Deb
What a nice post. And a lovely, lovely photo.
I know what you mean about seeing (hearing, smelling, tasting) without a lens between one's self and the day. Thanks for reminding me.
Jennifer
I've seen the quote going around about not waiting for the storm to pass but learning to dance in the rain.
Again, you inspire me to truly see. I think photography teaches you to see, to notice things you may have walked right by, but it also is like tunnel vision. While it teaches you to be mindful and focus on one thing at a time it also shuts the rest of the world out, nothing else exist during that time and space.
